In December, 2009, after series of workshops for national Local Contact Points, EURAXESS network became operational. Five workshop sessions were organized for representatives of Serbian research landscape in Universities of Niš, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Kragujevac and Faculty of Information Technology in Belgrade.
After sent invitations, 57 collegues from 47 organizations registered for participation by using online facility and attended the workshops. All workshops were organized by using the common agenda, consisting of two parts. In first part, attendees are informed about EURAXESS in Europe, its background, goals and main pillars, as well as different experiences and cases from number of EU countries. In second part of the workshop, attendees were trained to use European EURAXESS Extranet for collaboration with their collegues and national Extranet, which will be used for submission and central administration of job vacancies, researchers inquiries, relevant news and update of institution profiles.
Workshops were organized by EURAXESS Service centers from Nis, Belgrade, Novi Sad and Kragujevac, with great effort of their coordinators: Jasmina Milenkovic, Olivera Mijatovic, Valentina Milovanovic, Milos Milutinovic and Zeljko Dzunic. This effort was completed by bridgehead organization staff: Milan Trifunovic, Miroslav Trajanovic, Nikola Korunovic and Milan Zdravkovic.
As a result of number of meetings, contacts, info days, newsletters, 33 organizations signed Declaration of Commitment for members of EURAXESS network, and by doing so, committed themselves to actively participate in facilitation of incoming and outgoing mobility of researchers in Republic of Serbia.
