University of Kragujevac

University of Kragujevac was founded on May 21, 1976. Today University of Kragujevac has grown into a modern educational and research centre embracing almost all major areas of teaching and research, currently comprising 11 faculties with the student population of 17 000 and the academic staff of 1200 members. These faculties are spread in five towns of Central Serbia region, which covers the area populated by 2 500 000 people. So far 18 000 students graduated from the University, 600 earned their master’s degree and 300 successfully defended their doctoral dissertations. The University of Kragujevac comprises 11 faculties. Six of them are located in Kragujevac and five others in four neighbouring towns.

The University of Kragujevac maintains rich bilateral and multilateral cooperation with many academic and research institutions and associations from all over the world. The close links with foreign partners are kept through the membership in various international and inter-university associations, the joint work on the international projects, the exchange of students and academic staff and through the contracts on direct cooperation. These contracts have so far been signed with a number of foreign partners from Europe and the USA. In addition to its active participation in the cooperation with foreign partners, University of Kragujevac maintains close links with foreign governments’ missions and representatives and foreign NGOs in the countries which support its academic and research activities.
